Privacy
Overspill is run from the United Kingdom. This page says exactly what we hold about you, why we hold it, and who else sees it. If anything here is unclear, email overspill@usescalo.com and ask.
What Overspill is not
Overspill never asks for your Instagram password, is never connected to your Instagram account, and cannot post, message, follow or change anything on it. Everything it shows you comes from reels that are already public.
What we collect from you
What we collect about public creators
When you add a barber you model, we collect their public profile and public reels: handle, display name, follower and post counts, profile picture, and each reel’s caption, thumbnail, audio, duration, view, like and comment counts. This is the same information anybody can see by opening their profile. We hold it so the whole product can run without anyone waiting for a scrape, and so that adding a creator somebody else already added is instant and free.
If you are a creator in our database and you want your data removed, email overspill@usescalo.com and we will delete it.
Who else processes it
Anthropic and Groq are sent the reel being analysed, not you. Neither is given your email, your handle or anything else that identifies you, and neither is permitted to train on it. Some of these providers operate outside the UK, in which case the transfer relies on the safeguards in their own data processing terms.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and there is no analytics or tracking pixel on this site.
Cookies
Two, both strictly necessary, neither used for advertising. One keeps you signed in. The other remembers an affiliate code if you arrived through someone’s link, so they get credited after you sign up. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing optional to consent to.
How long we keep it
Your account data for as long as you have an account. Delete your account and we remove your profile, your creator list, your saved reels and your credit history. Records we are required to keep for tax and accounting, such as payment records, are kept for six years as UK law requires. Public creator data stays, because it is not yours and other barbers are using it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email overspill@usescalo.com and we will respond within one month. If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Your account and payment data: because we need it to provide the service you have asked for. Public creator data and usage records: our legitimate interest in running a product that works and does not cost more than it charges. Service emails: necessary to run your account.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that affects you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows when it last changed.
